A legend of a woman who was afraid of the water. She couldn`t fetch water. Her husband fetched the water for her before he left to go hunting. One time, he forgets to fetch the water. As she gets thirsty, she goes to the water. At the water`s edge, she is pulled into the water by a merman. In the world under the water, she lives with the merman and his two sons. The husband returns to find his wife gone. He goes into the underwater world and rescues his wife.

The legend of Aayaashaau and how he abandons his son on an island. The son has many obstacles trying to get back home because the father uses shaman power against his son. The son finally reaches home and confronts his father. The son burns the land and makes the water boil to rid the land of evil. After he changes his mother into the robin and he changes into a bird far away where it is always summer.

Story from the Waskaganish area when men were taking supplies inland. A shaman killed people by keeping animals away from people and the group of men reached the shaman and had a confrontation. After leaving, the shaman does the same to these men, starving them out. They confront the shaman using the shaking tent ceremony.

Five tales of Chihkaapaash. First is his encounter with the giant fish and being swallowed whole by the fish. Second is encountering the Spirit people and the incident with the giant beaver. Third is the encounter with the giant being that killed the parents of Chihkaapaash and his sister. Fourth is the getting married to two sisters after killing their cannibal mother. And the fifth one is about their move into the land of the sky and snaring the sun.
