A story of an Inuk going to set a net at a lake in his kayak. A young friend watches from the shore. He paddles to a small island to look for eggs and is chased by a polar bear. He gets attacked by the polar bear and the young man watches. His brother takes revenge on the polar bear. After killing the polar bear, he sees that it was a very strong animal, full of sinew and muscle.

Finding a herd of caribou, Charlie`s great-grandfather decides to use snares instead of using the gun and catches the entire herd of caribou.
