Florrie Mark-Stewart was born in 1934 in the bush near Eastmain, James Bay, Quebec. She lived on the land most of her life. She was a Cree language and culture teacher in Eastmain for 25 years. Although she is now retired, she participates in different gatherings as a spokesperson for her community. She enjoys knitting, sewing and telling stories to her grandchildren. |
